FOR THE EIGHTH SUCCESSIVE year at Moray community is gearing up for a fundraising day in tribute to Logan Main.
The Lossiemouth-based charity Logan’s Fund has raised thousands of pounds over the years – all used to assist any child and their family affected by cancer.
At the heart of their fundraising efforts is Logan’s Family Fun Day – and this year that is set to take place on Sunday, August 27 at its usual venue on the playing fields alongside Lossiemouth High School.
Last year Logan’s Family Fun Day and the work of the charity received high recognition thanks to Moray’s MSP Richard Lochhead raising a motion in the Scottish Parliament, recognising the excellent event itself and the year-round work of the charity.
Central to the fun day will be a variety of entertainment for all the family taking place in a central ring, surrounded by stands and stalls from community groups and local services. Logan’s Fund chairman Cameron Mackintosh said: “The ring is definitely where the main thrills and spills of the day happen.
“Every year the Lossiemouth Entertainment Academy put on a performance and just blow everyone away – setting high standards for the rest of the afternoon to follow. Added to that we will also have the children’s entertainment characters from ‘Lets get the Party started’.
“There will be no let-up in quality as we have kickboxing demo’s from SFEAR – one of the success stories from the fun day is the number of enthusiastic new members they have attracted as a result of performing at Logan’s Family Fun Day.
“’All Stars and Stripes Cheer and Dance’ will be bringing both their champion pom-pom and stunt teams to wow the crowd, while active gymnastics will not only do a top glass display but will invite young and old to take part in the ‘Kids Olympics’.”
The pipes and drum of 2622 Squadron will open the afternoon for an event that is free of charge and will begin at 12noon – with a car boot sale also taking place from 10am for those seeking out a few bargains.
Anyone wishing more information including booking a place for the car boot sale or a stall around the arena should contact Logan’s Fund by email to info@logansfund.org or by calling 07709 320879.
