SCOTRAIL ARE WARNING passengers intending to travel from Moray to Aberdeen on their weekend services next month that they face disruption and having to switch to a bus.
Trains between Inverurie and Aberdeen are to be replaced by buses on the weekends of September 2/3 and again on September 9/10.
ScotRail Alliance say that this has been made necessary because of work on a mile-long section of track at Kintore. Further disruption will also see a bus service linking Huntly and Aberdeen on September 30 and October 1.
Other changes will see the 9.33pm service from Inverness to Aberdeen terminating at Huntly on Saturday’s – with the same fate for the 9.03pm service from Inverness to Aberdeen on Sundays.
ScotRail Alliance communications director Rob Shorthouse has encouraged passengers to download the ScotRail app to keep up to date with changes to services: “We are doing a lot of work to build the best railway Scotland has ever had – but that’s ultimately going to deliver faster journeys, more seats and better services.
“While we are making those improvements, some services will be disrupted – so we would encourage people to plan ahead by visiting our website or downloading the ScotRail app.”
