Fochabers toilet block is vandalised just days after repairs

Councillor Marc Macrae

A MORAY COUNCILLOR has hit out at vandals who have forced the closure of public toilets in Fochabers for the second time in a matter of days.

The toilets have been under repeated attacks by vandals with the toilet bowls being smashed just over a week ago.

The facility at the Fochabers Pavilion only reopened after that attack on Wednesday – and suffered exactly the same fate just a few hours later, forcing them to be closed a second time. It will again cost Moray Council several hundred pounds to affect repairs.

Councillor Marc Macrae said mindless vandals are now having a very real and detrimental impact on the local community: “It’s unfair that locals and visitors to Fochabers will have to bear the brunt of this closure.

“Vandalism in our communities will not be tolerated and these incidents have been reported to the police.”
