Lights up through the winter to show 1000 years of Elgin heritage

Jim Royan – ‘Spectacular’ film to show Elgin heritage

AN ANIMATED LIGHT SHOW is set to once again decorate the centre of Elgin when it is beamed on an iconic building this week.

The Castle to Cathedral to Cashmere ‘Light Project Show’ was a huge success when it was last shown in the city centre – now it will be back on Saturday, November 18 from 4.30pm.

Projected onto the rear of the St Giles Church, the light show will depict people and events spanning over 1000 years of Elgin history – all the way to the present day.

Jim Royan, chair of the Castle to Cathedral to Cashmere partnership management group, told insideMORAY: “This spectacular film brings our rich heritage together and alive in an exciting and unique way, making it accessible to everyone.”

The light projections will remain in place throughout the winter months, running each evening from 4.30pm.
