Moray Children challenged to design MSP’s charity Christmas Card

CHILDREN IN MORAY are being called upon to produce a new Christmas Card design in the annual charity competition organised by Moray’s MSP.

Richard Lochhead will use the winning design on his official Christmas Card – with the theme for the design competition this year being ‘Family and Friends’.

Sponsorship has already been attracted from several local businesses – with each year the MSP using the card to highlight the work of a local charity. For this year funds raised from the card will be going to Alzheimer Scotland Moray, who provide support to those in Moray living with dementia and their families.

In 2016 Mr Lochhead and his staff received training from Alzheimer Scotland Moray to become ‘Dementia Friend’s’.

Mr Lochhead said: “Over the years we have had a huge number of entries from children all over Moray and every year we have great designs to choose from.

“This year’s competition theme is family and friends and I’m really looking forward to seeing the entries for this year’s Christmas Card competition. In past years I’ve seen many fantastic designs from some very talented young people in Moray and I know that I can expect the same again!

“Each year I nominate a charity working in Moray to highlight in the card and to raise money for them with the help of very generous sponsorship from local businesses.

“This year the money raised will go to Alzheimer Scotland Moray who do a fantastic job providing support to folk in Moray living with dementia.”

Entries should be submitted by November 17 and sent to Richard Lochhead MSP, Office 2, Gairland Business Centre, Fochabers, IV32 7DJ.
