Over 20 Moray projects to vie for Money for Moray funding

Morayvia was a previous Money for Moray winner

OVER 20 COMMUNITY GROUPS will compete for a share of £55,000 early next month when the latest ‘Money for Moray’ funding event is held in Lhanbryde.

The even organised by Moray Council’s Economic Development Department will take place on December 3 at 1.30pm in the Lhanbryde Community Centre.

Last night it was revealed that more than 20 groups met the selection criteria – and now they will have the opportunity to pitch to members of the public who will ultimately decide who receives funding for what will be the fourth event Money for Moray has organised.

Garmouth and Kingston’s Over-50s club was a previous Money for Moray winner, with Brian Fear saying: “Unlike other funds I spoke direct to those making the decisions – namely members of the public.

“The people in the hall from other groups gave me advice and offered other equipment for our group. The networking that happened between groups was tremendous – I definitely recommend any group to apply to Money for Moray.”

All are welcome for the event but only those who listen through all the pitches are permitted to vote for the groups they believe should receive funding.

Transport can be arranged if required, with those needing that service asked to contact Lhanbryde Community Centre on 01343 843025 by Monday, November 27 and leave your name and contact details on the answering machine.
