VISITORS TO SCHOOLS throughout Moray will be urged to show more respect in a campaign that has been launched this week.
Head teachers have been asked to display posters in their primary and secondary schools, placed prominently in areas which the public regularly access.
These will serve as a reminder to members of the public about the need for respect at all times.
Chair of Moray Council’s Children and Young Peoples’ Services Committee, Cllr Tim Eagle, hopes the campaign will ensure Moray Council staff are treated appropriately in the workplace.
He said: “While the vast majority of our customers and visitors are polite, courteous and respectful towards staff, there have been many occasions where employees, particularly school administrators, have been verbally assaulted by members of the public.
“This behaviour is not appropriate and will not be tolerated.”
