YOUNGSTERS FROM FORRES Beavers and Brownies have been gifted high visibility vests from an Elgin High Street optician ahead of Road Safety Week.

The donation was made by Specsavers Elgin as part of its pledge to help youngsters stay safe when out in busy streets and public areas.

Craig Barron, Beaver Leader in Forres, said: “This donation will enable scout sections to work on their outdoor and adventure badges more safely. Thank you to Specsavers, we look forward to wearing the vests when we work on these badges in the New Year.”

Peter Taylor, store director at Specsavers Elgin, added: “Forres Beavers and Brownies often take part in activities outside so we hope they’ll be able to make good use of their new vests for badge work.

“We continually look for ways to give back to the local community and this donation is a fantastic way to support local groups in the area and help spread the road safety message.

“Specsavers is a proud supporter of Road Safety Week which takes place until November 26.”
