A MORAY BUILDING MATERIAL supply firm is urging local good causes to get in touch and bid for funding from its community fund.

Keith Builders’ Merchants have since 2012 operated its own community fund – passing on £15,000 to a variety of local causes through their philanthropic scheme that sees monthly contributions from its stores in Forres and Keith being made available.

The £400 each month is then pass on to worthy community causes, with KBM’s managing director Jeff Smith explaining: “We have given money to local people, organisations and events – everything from fiddlers to the allotment association to football clubs.

“I have done fundraising for years, so I know how hard and how heartbreaking it can feel. If we can help as many of these people as we can, we will. Sometimes I even manage to go out personally to give cheques – and it has been great to see how busy community hubs such as village halls can be.

“There are lots of great things happening and great people making them happen.”

Anyone who may be interested in applying to the fund should Email their name, address, contact telephone number and a brief description of what the funding is needed for to charityfund@keithbuilders.co.uk.

People do not need to Email every month – requests will be kept on file to be considered in the future if your application is not successful first time.
