A CHRISTMAS MARKET is being hosted by the Portgordon Community Alliance next weekend.

Stalls will be open for business on December 16 from 1pm until 4pm in Gordon Square with crafts, sweets, cakes, cosmetics and much more.

Santa has also promised to drop in and check out the Grotto organisers have created for him in the village hall, where refreshments will also be available courtesy of the Barometer Café – or tea can be taken in the Lampie Hoose.

A spokeswoman said: “The Christmas lights in the Square will be switched on by a randomly selected primary school pupil at 4pm.

“Organisers will be easy to identify – they will all be wearing Christmas jumpers and have volunteered to lead the singing before the lights are switched on!”

All profits from this event will be shared between the Lampie Hoose and the Portgordon Post Community Newsletter.
