MORAY RESIDENTS CAN slash their energy bills by up to £300 with the Moray Citizens Advice Bureau ready to show how it can be done.
The move is part of the Big Energy Saving Week with takes place in the week beginning January 22.
It is part of a nationwide campaign run by Citizens Advice Scotland, Citizens Advice, Energy Saving Trust and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), will help households reduce their energy bills by offering advice and information.
Held from 10 am to 3 pm on Thursday, January 25, volunteers and staff from Moray Citizens Advice Bureau will be on hand to provide visitors with the latest advice, and will demonstrate how simple switching can be – and how the Energy Switch Guarantee offers peace of mind throughout the process.
Mary Riley, Manager of Moray Citizens Advice Bureau said: “Checking your energy tariff and switching to a cheaper deal is one of the quickest and easiest ways to cut your bills.
“Big Energy Saving Week is a great opportunity to get expert advice on how you can make savings in these winter months, from changing energy supplier to simple energy efficiency measures you can make in your home.
“We know people who stay with the same energy supplier often pay hundreds of pounds more a year for the same gas and electricity. We would encourage everyone to come down to the event, use our price comparison tool or contact our service for advice so they can start making savings.
“Often, consumers aren’t aware that they can save such significant amounts of money by switching: our event/s is/are a quick and easy way to learn more about your bills and how to cut them down to size.”
