ELGIN BID IS TO run their own ‘Home Show’ next month aimed at providing people with the means to break through the jargon involved in buying their own home.

Home Reports, completion dates, deposits and stamp duty will just be some of the topics explained at the ‘New Year New Home’ show being held at the Alexander Graham Bell Centre on Thursday, February 22 from 5.15pm until 8pm.

Members of the public can meet the local experts in mortgage advice, property expertise, legal information, financial guidance and home furnishings, with local businesses including banks, property firms, solicitors, furnishers and home builders all represented.

Gill Neill, Manager of Elgin BID said, “We held the event for the first-time last year and were really pleased with the feedback from people who attended or exhibited.

“The main comment we got from the public was that it made it incredibly easy for them to get a lot of information in one easy and convenient location. As a result, we were keen to run the event again and hope to attract an even wider audience.

“There is a wealth of knowledge and information available for people and the event allows people to find out about properties, mortgages, renting, leasing and the legalities attached, they can even where they can go to furnish it.

“With representatives from Banks, Solicitors, Estate Agents, Financial Advisors and furniture shops, we are delighted that so many of the businesses have decided to get involved and are sure it will be a great success.”
