AN MS SUFFERER FROM MORAY is facing her own fears in the hope of raising the profile of the condition while raising funding for the national society that is working to eradicate MS.

Susan Shand was diagnosed with MS in 2009, shortly after the birth of her daughter, resulting in her mobility becoming progressively worse to the point where she needs to use a wheelchair.

Susan, who lives in Keith, explained: “MS has taken away so much from me including my mobility, my confidence and even some so called friends.

“However, it has given me so much more, a strength and determination I didn’t know I have and a love of fundraising. MS is an inconvenience in my life – but I will not let it stop me trying out new activities.

“Doing a zip wire has been on my bucket list for a long time and now I have found a fully accessible zip wire I can tick off that particular activity whilst raising awareness and funds for a cause which is really important to me.”

The MS Society Scotland will benefit from Susan’s taking part in a ‘Zipslide Zinger’ taking place at the Crieff Hydro in May.
