Police issue appeal after thefts in Forres and Lhanbryde

POLICE IN MORAY are appealing for assistance following a number or theft reports from Forestry sites in the region.

Tools and equipment have been taken in the incidents in the areas around Forres and Lhanbryde between the end of last month and Tuesday of this week.

Total value of the items that have been taken is being given as a low four-figure sum.

Inspector Graeme Allan said: “We are urging anyone who has noticed anything unusual or suspicious in the area to get in touch with us. We would also ask that anyone who is offered equipment or tools related to the Forestry industry contacts us.

“We continue to urge operators in the area to be vigilant with regards storage and security measures. If you notice anything suspicious or if you have information in relation to these thefts then please contact police on 101 using reference number CF0028780218 for Forres and CF0029590218 for Elgin.
