- Ruth Mendel, Policy Officer at Citizens Advice Scotland, who will give a short presentation on CAS’s Creating Better Journeys, a national campaign to gather evidence to give a voice to bus users in local communities across Scotland
- Jamie Reid, operations director for Stagecoach (Moray and Buchan), who will speak about recent developments and proposed changes on their bus network in Moray
- Donald MacRae, Public Transport Manager at Moray Council, to give an update on the operation of Dial M for Moray
- Gail Buchan, Hospital Ambulance Liaison Officer at Dr Gray’s Hospital, who will talk about patient transport to and from Dr Gray’s in Elgin
- Joanne Fairweather of the Scottish Government Mobility and Access Committee, to discuss some of the issues surrounding transport for those with mobility difficulties
- A representative from Abellio Scotrail, who will report on the improvements made to the Aberdeen – Inverness railway, and the improvements to the service we can expect to see in the coming months
There will also be workshops asking participants to consider how best to improve transport provision in Moray.
Participation is free, and includes a buffet lunch. There are still a handful of places available, which can be booked by e-mail to: moraytransportseminar@btinternet.com The event is taking place with financial assistance from Stagecoach and HiTrans, and with Moray Council providing in-kind support. Ten of the councillors from Moray Council have pledged to attend and participate.
