Officers are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a 27 year old man at the Faroes Court area of Lossiemouth at around 12am yesterday, Wednesday, 10 October.
The man sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers are also appealing for witnesses following a report of a disturbance involving three men at Forties Place, Lossiemouth, at around 1.20am yesterday, Wednesday, 10 October.
Detective Sergeant John Lumsden said: “We are keeping an open mind as to whether these two incidents are linked and would ask that anyone who has any information that would assist our enquiries gets in touch.
“Faroes Court and Forties Place are in close proximity and we would ask that anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area in the early hours of yesterday gets in touch with us by phoning 101 and quoting reference number CF0249191018 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous.
“Two men aged 16 and 22 have been arrested and are assisting us with our enquiries.”
