Moray Concert Brass are planning to get everyone into the Christmas spirit in the run up to the big day. They will perform their annual, much loved ‘Carols at Cooper Park’ concert on Saturday, 22 December, just in front of Elgin Library with the carols starting at 5.30pm.
The band will play a range of popular carols, and a handy carol sheet will be available for those in need of a little help with remembering the words. To help keep out any winter chill, Cobbs Café in the library will be open, with warming drinks and refreshments available to buy both before and after the concert.
Donations will be collected, with all the money raised to go to MND Scotland, who provides care and support for people affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in Scotland. MND is a group of diseases that affect the nerves in the brain and spinal cord that are responsible for muscle control resulting in weakened and wasting muscles. There is currently no cure and MND Scotland can provide help and advice to those living with the disease and their families while also funding vital research into finding a cure.

Moray Concert Brass, which is part of the Moray Council’s Music Centre run by the Musical Instruction Service, do regular concerts throughout the area and have raised money for many charities in recent years including Sarcoma UK, CLAN Cancer Support, The Aila Coull Foundation, Riding for the Disabled and Breast Cancer UK.
“Our annual Carol concert has become a bit of a tradition, and highlight of the Christmas Season for many” says Glenn Munro, Musical Director of Moray Concert Brass. “We hope we can raise both awareness and money for this fantastic charity, while providing entertainment to the wider community.”
