A ‘women in business’ conference is set to take place for a third time celebrating the wealth of female entrepreneurs there are in the region and from across Scotland.
Moray Business Women’s Club will host the event which will include workshops, a networking lunch, and inspirational speakers.
The networking group first held a conference in 2017 and it proved a showstopper on its calendar of events.
This year’s workshops will focus on PR, communication, managing your time keeping and knowing how to be significant within your company.
Sam Dowdall, president of the Moray Business Women’s Club said: “This is the third year the conference will take place, and it has become an important and popular event for us. Up until three years ago, we had never done anything like this, but the first one proved such a success that we have continued with it.”

This year’s event will take place on 12 June at Horizon in Forres and, as Sam explained, there is something for everyone: “We have four really great workshops lined up and our delegates can pick two from what we have on offer. This is not a boring, sit on your backside type of conference, the speakers we have are energetic, fun, have great business stories to tell and useful information to share. Many of the workshops will be interactive and we have no doubt that the attendees will have a lot of fun and of course there will be networking opportunities at the same time.”
Sam added: “Following feedback from previous delegates, and to make it even more inclusive we have also decided to hold the event during the day .Previously it was held late afternoon into the evening but we have listened to the feedback, so we are hoping that more people will be able to attend this year. The event is for any women in business whether they be a company director, sole trader, employee or otherwise. We welcome members and non-members.”
Closing the event will be Angie Foreman from Coca Cola 5by20 who will share her experiences as a social entrepreneur. Angie will focus on vision and values and will also encourage guests to offer up business pledges that other businesswomen can make use of.
Sam said: “A group of us attended the Association of Scottish Business Women conference in Glasgow last month and Angie spoke at that. We thought she was great and very inspirational, so decided to invite her north to address all of our members and guests.”
Booking for the event which takes place on 12 June between 10am and 4pm at Horizon Scotland in Forres can be done via Eventbrite at http://mbwc.org.uk/events/
