The traditional first fireworks display of the Guy Fawkes season in Moray is set to be bigger and better than ever this weekend.
Portgordon had become famous for putting on something special and for their 20th year they have a treat in store for residents and visitors.
Members of the team behind the display have recently attended an intensive training course in Inverurie that qualifies them to produce stage-one fireworks. The British Pyrotechnics Association course attendance means that Kevin Gunn and Ian Legge can release professional category fireworks.
That is expected to produce a truly spectacular display in the village on Friday, with the display staring out at 7pm with the first firework arrangement around 15 minutes later.
As well as the bright lights and big bangs there will as usual be entertainment on hand for all the family through a variety of funfair rides with food and drink available on site.
Members of the public are reminded that they should not bring their own fireworks of any description, children attending must be accompanied by an adult. A shuttle bus service will be available from the Buckie Drifter car park from 6.30pm.
