Former members of Lossiemouth’s 12(B) Squadron invited to join new Association

A call has gone out to former members of RAF Lossiemouth’s 12(B) Squadron which will be formally disbanded in March.

The invitation to all ranks, trades and services who were posted or attached to the squadron from its formation in February 1915 is being extended to join a new official Association for former comrades.

A Disbandment Weekend will be held at the Moray base on the weekend of 14 to 16 February, with plans to include a medal ceremony to honour those personnel who have recently returned from operations.

There will also be a Distillery Visit, Disbandment Dinner and Church Service.

The Dinner will be the key formal event of the weekend and will start with the formal ‘Dining Out’ of the current Squadron personnel before briefly transitioning to thoughts of disbandment – and ultimately celebrating 99 years and the re-establishment of the Association.

Anyone interested in joining the Squadron Association or who would like to attend the February events is being asked to contact Flight Lieutenant Steve Wstley on 01343 816853, or via email to
