Jim Gault and Gregor Ewan will be bringing Paralympic bronze medals back to Moray after another dramatic day in Sochi.
Team GB took the Bronze with a stunning final win over China at the Ice Cube, having earlier lost their semi-final match to hosts Russia – who themselves had to settle for Silver when beaten by Canada in the final.
In the medal play off match Team GB – skipped by Aileen Neilson with Angie Malone making up the GB Quartet – found themselves three shots down after the first two ends.
From there on in, however, it was a superb performance that earned the medal, the British rink closing the gap with two in the third end before ‘stealing’ two against the hammer in the fourth.
China found it impossible to break down the resolute and determined UK side as they stole shots in each of the next three ends to set themselves up for a final end with a four-point advantage.
That was more than enough as China accepted defeat before the final stones were played.
