Lossiemouth is again gearing up this month for what has become one of the most anticipated events on the Moray calendar.
Logan’s Family Fun Day has is held annually to commemorate the life of Logan Main, who was just three years old when he passed away in June 2009.
Logan had suffered from the rare childhood cancer Neuroblastoma and his parents, family and friends were so inspired by his amazing courage that they set up ‘Logan’s Fund’ in 2008, originally to meet the costs of treatment in the United States.
After Logan passed away it was decided to keep the charity going in Logan’s name, supporting any initiatives that helped the immediate care of Neuroblastoma as well as other cancer sufferers and their families.
As a result Logan’s Fund has raised thousands of pounds with the annual Family Fun Day a centrepiece of its fundraising efforts and superbly supported by people from throughout Moray and beyond.
Taking place at the Lossiemouth Sports Field on Sunday, August 31, the event this year will feature Elgin’s Lilian MacDonald, who recently scored a national hit when she recorded a song for her cancer-suffering boyfriend that shot to the iTunes Top 30.
Also taking the stage will be members of the Rock Academy Performing Arts from Lossiemouth, while a packed day of entertainment will also include martial arts demonstrations, pony rides, archery and dance displays.
Around the central ring there will also be a large number of stalls while a car boot sale will also be in operation.
