High winds and heavy rainfall warning for Moray

Heavy rain predicted for Moray

People living in Moray are being warned to expect possible surface flooding on Sunday.

The Met Office have issued a ‘be prepared’ yellow warning for the entire Grampian region with the expectation of heavy rainfall accompanied by high winds expected along the Moray coastline and spreading inland.

A spell of persistent and occasionally heavy rain is being forecast and the public are being told to be aware that brings the risk of local flooding and possible minor disruption to travel.

While there are no indications that storms of the type that brought severe flooding to several Moray communities in August, the Met Office says that extra care should be taken.
