Moray’s pool rules brought into line for 13 to 15 year olds

Changes to council-owned swimming pools in Moray will see young people aged between 13 and 15 being permitted to join adult sessions from this week.

Until now swimmers in that age group would only be allowed to take part in adult swimming session if they were accompanied by an adult.

However, the local authority relaxed that ruling from Monday and have now brought their rules into line with fitness room sessions, where 13 to 15 year olds have been able to participate unaccompanied with adults.

A spokesman for Moray Council explained: “As of today 13, 14 and 15-year-olds are welcome to attend adult sessions at the Buckie, Forres, Keith, Lossiemouth and Aberlour pools to swim for health, fitness and wellbeing.

“They will be required to pay adult charges but an incentive is available in the form of a saver card.”
