Two Elgin teenagers taken to hospital suffering from stab wounds

Police and ambulance crews called to a disturbance in Elgin on Monday discovered two teenagers suffering from stab wounds.

It has been reported that a fight broke out in a flat in the New Elgin area at Meadow Crescent that led to police cordoning off the area after the disturbance involving up to six people.

Two, a 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man, are understood to have been left injured after the incident. Local sources named the woman as Megan Gray.

Confirming the incident a spokeswoman for Police Scotland said last night: “Police Scotland were called to reports of a disturbance involving several people in the Meadow Crescent area of Elgin shortly after midnight on Monday.

“As a result of the disturbance and 18-year-old Female and 19-year-old male were injured.

“They have been taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin but it is understood that their injuries are now of a serious nature.

“Inquiries are ongoing and are at an early stage to establish the circumstances.”

Local people report that three police cars, two police vans and two ambulances were at the scene while the casualties were removed on stretchers.

Police have issued an appeal for anyone who might have information about the incident to contact them on the 101 non-emergency line.
