Parts of Elgin are once again under floodwater this afternoon as high winds and heavy rain continues to threaten homes and businesses in Moray.
Moray Council say that they have also delivered additional sandbags to Stewart Street in Portgordon and the shore area of Portessie as massive waves continue to strike Moray coastal communities.
Water has been coming up from the drains in the Maisondieu Road area of Elgin causing flooding, while the harbour area at Burghead is also thought to be at some risk from floodwater.
The conditions are being caused by a combination of high tides and heavy rainfall throughout the region – Sepa has said that lower areas in Lossiemouth such as the marina, Seatown Road and Seatown are at risk.
While the rainfall is expected to ease later high tides at midnight tonight and again around lunchtime on Wednesday may pose a further risk.
Update: Maisondieu Road in Elgin is currently closed (4.20pm)
