Keith lorry incidents leave two injured including 95-year-old

Motorists faced delays on Thursday when two lorries collided on a road between Keith and Dufftown.

The accident happened at around 2.30pm on the B9014 close to Haggieshaw.

Police, Fire and Ambulance services were all called to the scene and the road was blocked for several hours.

One of the drivers was treated for what was described as “minor head injuries” while the other escaped uninjured.

A Police spokeswoman said: “Emergency services were called at around 2.30pm to an incident on the Keith to Dufftown road after an incident involving two lorries.”

Meanwhile a 95-year-old man was injured after being hit by a pick-up truck in Keith.  Police and ambulance services were called to the incident on Church Road at around 5.05pm.

It is understood he suffered a fractured leg and was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin for treatment.
