Shopkeepers in Moray are being warned to look out for a gang of professional thieves who are stealing cash from unwary shops in the region.
The manager of the Relax store in Elgin was left stunned on Saturday when the slick group struck at the store and stole cash from the tills.
Becks Mayne said that she was later told by police that it was probably the same group who had struck at a shop in Forres earlier on the same day.
Becks told insideMoray: “It happened at around 2.30pm on Saturday while the shop was open, fortunately they were clearly professionals and from their point of view it went ‘smoothly’ and nobody was injured.
“Police told us that the same group also stole from a shop in Forres that morning.
“I asked police officers if there was anywhere that they informed local businesses of things like this happening so we can all be more alert to the danger, but unfortunately it appears that there is not.”
Anyone who believe they have information on the theft is asked to contact Police Scotland on the non-emergency 101 line or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
