A reward is being offered by a Moray store owner after thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused to a plate glass window on Saturday morning.
Witnesses say that the window at Grampian Furnishers in Lossiemouth was attacked by a man who was asked to leave a bus for his unruly behaviour at around 8.30am on Saturday morning.
Now owner Royce Clark has issued an appeal via the firm’s Social Media site offering a reward for information and the subsequent arrest of the person responsible.
“We had a smashing time at Grampian Furnishers today as somebody got thrown off the bus at 8.30-ish this morning for being drunk – and decided to take it out on one of our windows!” the statement read.
Mr Clark said: “What I have been told is that someone was asked to leave a passing bus because of his behaviour – and decided to take it out on our store window.
“These things are very expensive to replace – it is difficult enough for any shop owners these days without us having to go to added expense because of wanton vandalism of this nature.”
Mr Clark said that police are following a definite line of enquiry and has appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or who knows the person responsible to come forward with a reward being offered for information that leads to prosecution.
People are asked to contact police on 101 or via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
