A Moray writing club has produced a new anthology that they hope will raise funds for Macmillan Nurses.
‘From our Desks’ is the fourth anthology produced by members of the Elgin Writers group and has been dedicated to the memory of Eveline Wiseman, a founding member who died from cancer earlier this year.
Featuring work of new members to the group as well as a number who have been members for many years, the new publication contains a brief history of the group by Hetty Milne, one of the writers involved in setting up the group 28 years ago.
At least half of the profits from the book will go to Macmillan Nurses.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Angela Walker said: “The club is friendly and provides a forum for constructive criticism, a place for listening to other authors and to act as a sounding board for ideas.
“It does not matter what genre your write in – there will be a sympathetic ear to help and give guidance on layout and presentation.”
‘From our Desks’ includes excerpts from novels, articles, poetry and short stories and is available from Washington’s of Forres, Yeadons, Waterstones and the Elgin Library.
