People in Moray are being encouraged to start the New Year by taking advantage of a free shop offer that is ideal for small business start-ups or community groups.
Throughout the year the Keith Conservation and Regeneration Scheme (CARS) has been operating a pop-up shop in the town’s Mid Street, offering the space free of charge to anyone in Moray to take up residency for up to four weeks.
Among the many start-up businesses and community groups who have taken advantage of the offer was insideMoray, who along with voluntary organisations ‘held the lease’ on the shop for three weeks in November.
Ross McCleary, the Keith CARS officer, said: “The basis of the pop-up shop project is that Keith CARS takes over the lease of an empty shop for free.
“We then allow start-up businesses, internet traders, existing businesses that are thinking about moving to Mid Street or community projects to use the shop free of charge with the exception of electricity and water costs. This operates for periods of up to one month.
“We currently have vacant dates for the shop in the New Year and so we are keen to hear from anyone who might wish to take up this unique opportunity.”
Anyone interested in the offer can contact Ross on 01343 563549 or by email to ross.mcleary@moray.gov.uk.
