Health bosses have insisted that everything possible is being done to fill vacant posts at Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin.
They were reacting to a call from Richard Lochhead MSP following his meeting last week with Scotland’s new Cabinet Secretary for Health, Shona Robison.
Mr Lochhead highlighted concerns that the Moray hospital should not fall in NHS Grampian’s priorities as they faced severe criticism over the running of the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Following his meeting with Ms Robison last week, the Moray MSP said that there had been an assurance that recruitment of key posts at Dr Gray’s would be filled “as quickly as possible”.
Now a spokeswoman for NHS Grampian has said that their recruitment team are working hard to fill vacancies at Dr Gray’s, with posts ranging from a maintenance assistant to a consultant physician currently being advertised of the health authority web site.
“We have a dedicated recruitment team who work extremely hard to fill vacancies throughout the organisation, with jobs advertised on our website and in the local press as well as professional journals.
“In Moray specifically we have taken part in careers events in Elgin and work closely with our colleagues in further and higher education in the area.”
