The magic of the movies will resound around Elgin Town Hall this month when all-time film classics will be performed for the best possible cause.
‘Magical Moments II’ is to be staged by Moray Concert Brass as a follow-up to the stunningly successful concert held two years ago to raise awareness for a local charity.
The very special event is being held for the Alia Coull Foundation, which was set up by Sine and Fraser Coull in memory of their daughter who lost her battle with Childhood Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) when she was just 16 months old.
Glenn Munro, who is conductor of Moray Concert Brass, said: “Two years ago we had our first Magical Moments Concert for The Alia Coull Foundation and it was such a success we decided we had to do another one.
“We are delighted to be able to raise awareness and money for this fantastic local charity.
“Ailia’s mum, Sine, is a former member of the band so it is a cause very close to our hearts and we hope to make it something really special.”
The recently updated Town Hall will see the band dressed as characters from films – and the audience are encouraged to dress up as their favourite movie character, with a prize for the best costume.
Glenn said: “We are hoping to create a fantastic atmosphere for young and old and show just how magical music can be.”
The concert is to be held on Saturday January 24 at 2.30pm – although doors will open at 1.45pm to allow the audience to enjoy the various stalls that will be in the foyer.
The programme will includes songs from Disney’s popular film Frozen, Everything is Awesome from The Lego Movie and the ever popular Pirates of the Caribbean.
Tickets, priced at £6 for adults and £4 for concessions, are available from Bijou, and A&I Supplies in Elgin as well as at Pozzi, in Buckie.
A limited number of tickets will also be available at the door on the day.
