Several homes in Moray were left without power after two accidents on the Elgin to Forres stretch of the A96 left the road closed for several hours and one woman in hospital.
Around twenty homes are thought to have suffered a power blackout after a Mitsubishi car crashed into an electricity pole.
Nobody was hurt in the accident in the early hours of Saturday morning with most of those affected unaware of the power failure as workers had their electricity restored by around 4.30am.
A spokesman for Scottish and Southern Electricity said that only a small number of customers were affected after the pole had been brought down quite close to the road close to Alves.
Earlier a woman was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin when a Fiat 500 left the same road at Alves Wood west of the junction with the B9013 Burghead road. She suffered what was described as “minor injuries” when her vehicle left the road late on Friday evening, her car left on its side in woodland.
A police spokesman said that they were made aware of the accident at 11.42pm and the road was reopened by 2am.
