Young musicians from Forres were on hand this week to launch the push to a third European Pipe Band Championships in their town in June.
With around 20,000 spectators once again expected to flock to Forres organisers are keen to ensure that ticket sales got off to a flying start.
The championships last year was the largest single event held in Moray for over 25 years and provided a £1million boost to the local economy. Shortly after the championships organisers Forres Events announced that their original three-year deal as hosts was to be extended by a further three.
“This is a great event and we hope that 2015 is going to be bigger and better than ever,” Chairman of Forres Events, Ian Widdowson, said.
He added: “We plan to have more bands, more food stalls and more entertainment to make it a top family day out. Each year we have learned from the event before.”
As in previous years demand for event tickets is expected to be high with Mr Widdowson urging people to book their places as early as possible.
VisitScotland regional partnership director Scott Armstrong said: “Piping at Forres is one of the highlights of the cultural calendar in Moray and the largest piping event in the Highlands.
“The day attracts enthusiasts from all across the globe and provides a welcome boost to the local economy.”
Piping at Forres takes place once again in Grant Park on Saturday, June 27. Tickets are available now from www.pipingatforres.com or from Beaver Travel agencies in Elgin and Forres, R&R Urquhart’s office in Forres or at Nairn and Brodie Countryfare.
