A mass procession through the centre of Elgin was enjoyed by hundreds of locals and visitors attracted to the town by a Scottish Theme Day.
Musicians from Strathisla, Huntly and Ullapool gathered alongside the Elgin and District Pipe Band in the town for the event organised by Elgin BID to coincide with the Spirit of Speyside festival.
“It was a fantastic day and we had between 60 and 70 pipers and drummers playing so it was quite spectacular,” BID manager Gill Neill said, adding: “Whenever we stage events like this the pipe bands are always the most popular acts.
“So we decided to capitalise on that with this event, and thankfully the other bands volunteered to help.
“Saturday was the first time we’ve had a mass pipe band march through the centre of Elgin and it is something we want to expand on in future.”
Sunday meanwhile saw hundreds more turn out in Forres for the town’s annual Theme Day, most attracted to the array of vintage cars on display in Grant Park.
