Speyside Cooperage visitors set for a ‘sensory experience’

Cooperage
A NEW FILM depicting a M0ray cooperage has been launched by new Moray film makers Morscot Media.

Business leaders were treated to a preview of a new “sensory cinema” at the Speyside Cooperage near Craigellachie on Tuesday.

Now the production will be shown to tourists calling in at the cooperage throughout the summer – and it is hoped that other businesses in the region will study the idea developed by Recite Films producer Anna McPherson.

Business development manager for Morscot Mike Mulholland said: “The film about the cooperage was well received on Tuesday – now it will be shown to tourists throughout the season.”

Viewers are treated to atmospheric smoke and temperature changes in line with the images being shown, with Mr Mulholland adding: “The short movie expounds upon the effect the cask has on the quality of the whisky it contains.”

The film has been produced by Anna McPherson who added: “We are privileged to have some global brands in this area and our hopes are that we will work with many of them on similar projects.”
