NINE LONG SERVING members of staff at the Robertson Group have been honoured in a special ceremony at Gordon Castle this week.

Bill Robertson, who founded the group in Elgin 50 years ago, presented long service awards to staff who had been with the firm for 25 years.

The staff enjoyed a celebration dinner at the Walled Garden of the Fochabers estate, following which each was presented with a gold watch. A further two members of staff were not able to attend the dinner and will receive their honours at a later date.

Following the dinner Mr Robertson said: “I always enjoy these evenings because it allows me to thank people personally for their commitment to the business. None of our success would be possible without their hard work.

“The staff members we are celebrating have been with Robertson for half the life of the business. They joined around the time we acquired the Doric business in Aberdeen.

“This business had been twice the size of Robertson but traded in similar markets. This marked the beginning of our regional business model, which today boasts 18 separate businesses across the UK.”

The geographical reach of the Group now expands as far south as Yorkshire and the East Midlands where it has enjoyed opportunities to expand the regional business model.

Robertson Group employs over 1800 staff, transforming communities right across the built environment sector. Across the 18 separate businesses there are teams who specialise in construction, investment, property development, facilities management, private and affordable house building, timber frame and specialist services.

Those receiving awards were Colin Campbell, Steven Anderson and Raymond Conner from Robertson Construction (Eastern), Allan Thom, Colin McKinnon and Robbie McCulloch from Robertson Construction (Northern), Sandra Scott and Colin Souter from Robertson Homes, Willie Lain, Alan Gillespie and Steven Watson from Robertson Timber Engineering.
