A CONSULTATION PROCESS that places local people at the forefront of planning for the future of their own communities is to focus next on Lhanbryde.
The Planning for Real® process has already began in several Moray towns and villages – now the Moray Council community support unit is to host a preliminary meeting for people in the village.
Dufftown, Aberlour, Portgordon and Forres have project under way in the process that involves a working group of local residents being formed from all age groups in the community.
At a meeting at the Lhanbryde Community Centre on Tuesday, June 21 at 7pm Planning for Real® will be explained – and villagers will be encouraged to take part.
Community support worker Sarah Crowe, who will facilitate the project, said: “We hope as many people as possible will come along to the meeting to find out what Planning for Real® is all about.
“The ultimate aim is to develop an action plan based on what local people themselves want and to create a vision for the Lhanbryde of the future.”
From the meeting a working group will be established to take the project forward – with the aim of involving as many people as possible in the creation of a 3-D map of how they would wish their village to look in the future.
