Police would like to hear from witnesses to a hit and run incident near Buckie last week.

A HIT AND RUN incident on the A98 near Buckie last week has prompted an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

The incident happened at the Mill of Tynet area near Buckie at around 5.30pm on Friday (June 24) involving a 125cc Supermoto bike and a red Audi car.

Police say they would like to trace the car and its owner after they left the scene of the accident without giving any details.

As a result of the incident the 50-year-old motorcyclists had to be taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin, where he has been receiving treatment for a broken ankle and ribs.

Leading the investigation is PC Tom Millican, who said: “I would appeal for anyone who was in the area around the time in question and saw anything that could help our investigation to contact Police.

“In particular, if you recognise yourself as being the car owner involved, please get in touch so that we can establish exactly what happened.
