A RECRUITMENT FAIR this weekend aims to focus attention on groups in Moray that rely on volunteers for their success – and on potential volunteers who are seeking new interests.
Organised by tsiMoray, the Fair is being held as part of National Volunteers’ Week and will provide an open-house style allowing people to learn more about the organisations seeking assistance.
Groups attending the event at the St Giles Church in Elgin will include Moray Scouts, Findhorn Bay Arts, Keith & Dufftown Railway, Morayvia and Radio Buckie – along with many others.
Volunteering and employability development officer for tsiMoray is Susan Davies, who said: “There are a lot of people in the community who want to volunteer, but they’re unsure of where to start and what might be involved.
“The volunteer recruitment fair came about during a meeting of local organisations who were all looking to recruit volunteers for a fabulous range of different opportunities with everything on offer from being a cinema buddy to operating the box office at local arts venues.
“There are so many worthwhile opportunities across our community that are incredibly rewarding. We hope that we get a great turn out on the day and that we can show the people of Moray what volunteering here is all about.”
The Volunteer Recruitment Fair will be held at St Giles Church in Elgin from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, June 4 and is open to all.
