CHARITIES AND SOCIAL ENTERPRISE in Moray as well as local community groups and schools could benefit from funding being offered by the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Angus Robertson MP is highlighting the RBS Skills and Opportunities Fund which is currently embarking on a second round of funding – with £2.5million being made available from this week.

Grants of up to £35,000 are being offered with applicants asked to get their bids in before September 9 for a fund that focusses on support for organisations that help people in disadvantaged communities to develop, create or access the skills and opportunities they need to help themselves..

These skills would then help them get into work or even start a new business.

Pointing constituents to the fund website, Mr Robertson said: “There are many organisations across Moray that could benefit from this fund.

“This money could go a long way in helping people gain skills and access opportunities, enabling them to turn their lives around and build better communities for everyone.

“The fund is there to be put to good use, and I would encourage local charities and groups to think about how they could make use of this funding in creative ways and to make an application.”

Prior successful bids to the fund from Scotland has including Outfit Moray.
