A DISSOLVED COMMUNITY COUNCIL has been reformed without the need for an election following the recruitment of sufficient new members.
The Cullen and Deskford Community Council was dissolved following a series of resignations that took its membership below that required.
Moray Council called for new nominations with an election likely should more than the required numbers come forward. In the event there was six new nominations – ensuring that the community council could be reformed with two more members than the minimum required.
New community councillors as a result are Barry Addison, Esther Bruce, Phil Lovegrove, Tam McLennan and Dennis Paterson representing Cullen, while Iain Grieve has joined form Deskford.
There remains three vacancies – one allocated for Cullen and two for Deskford.
The first meeting of the reformed council will take place at Cullen Town Hall on Monday, September 19 at 7pm.
