Exploring family history made easy at Moray Libraries

Library sessions will greatly enhance ability to explore your family history.
Library sessions will greatly enhance ability to explore your family history.

A SERIES OF highly successful workshops that allowed people in Moray to gather the information needed to investigate their own family history are set to continue.

Moray Libraries ran their ‘Scottish Family History’ workshops in the Elgin Library and, encouraged by the take up and enthusiasm in which they were received, have now organised the same session in Forres.

Those who sign up to the workshops can expect to greatly enhance their abilities to investigate their family history after gaining advice on how and where to begin, how online resources can be used including Scotland’s People, LIBINDX and Family search, how to record your findings – and how the Heritage Service can also assist in your search.

The half-day workshops cost £25 – for booking a place or gathering further information, contact is the Elgin library by calling 01343 562603 or by email to elgin.library@moray.gov.uk.
