A DARTS COMPETITION is to be held in Moray next month to raise the profile for a national group who offer support to families who are grieving the loss of a child.

Angel Wings was formed when the need was recognised for those who have suffered the loss of a baby or child to support each other.

The aim of the UK-wide group is to education NHS staff on how best to treat families going through the pain and loss of losing a young one under any circumstances. Their main priority is offering support and comfort to families who are or have experienced such heartache.

To help raise the profile of the group in Moray, an open darts competition is to be held in the Beach Bar in Lossiemouth on November 19.

Helping to organise the event is James McPherson who told insideMoray: “Angel Wings is a Scottish organisation that supports families who are grieving the loss of their child. Here in Moray our local group are aiming to raise the profile of this issue through the Darts competition, and we are delighted to have received support from several people already through prize donations.

“These include tickets to the World Darts Championships in January. The competition is open to players at all abilities – entry is just £8 with registration on the day from 12noon until 12.45pm, then the first match will take place from 1pm.

“We would love to see as many players and spectators come along on the day to support our group and help us focus attention on this very worthy cause.”

More information on the Angels Wings group can be found on their Facebook Page while the Moray group’s darts competition also has a Facebook Event Page.
