Car overturned after leaving road near Elgin

Man suffered injuries when his car left the road early on Christmas Eve.

A MORAY MOTORISTS escaped serious injury on Christmas Eve when his vehicle left the road at a known trouble spot on the A941 between Lossiemouth and Elgin.

The male driver was on his own when his Focus car crashed off the road at around 7.30am, prompting an immediate response by Fire, Ambulance and Police just on the outskirts of Elgin.

The found the car on its roof in the ditch – however, the driver had managed to exit the vehicle and was taken to hospital suffering from “sore ribs”.

Confirming the incident a Police Scotland spokesman said: “There had been a few people who telephoned in about it. The driver was complaining about sore ribs and abdomen and was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital for a check-up.”

It is understood the driver had been travelling from Lossiemouth.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that only one vehicle was involved in the accident and a single male casualty, adding that a fire crew was called out “to make the vehicle safe”.
