A PEDESTRIAN IS being treated for injuries received in an accident on the A96 in Elgin earlier this afternoon.
Busy Saturday afternoon traffic was seriously disrupted when the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on the trunk road close to West Road in Elgin, close to the Esso filling station.
It is understood that the vehicle involved was a Tesco delivery lorry.
The road was closed in both directions between the Dr Gray’s Hospital roundabout and Wittet Drive, with diversions put in place as emergency services treated the injured male pedestrian and police investigations into its cause got under way.
At the scene was Sergeant Ferry who said: “I would like to thank the public for their assistance and patience whilst the incident is being dealt with.”
