A MORAY GROUP is gearing up for another visit from children whose lives have been seriously affected by one of the world’s largest nuclear catastrophes.
Friends of Chernobyl’s Children Moray have been tireless in their efforts to provide an annual holiday in Moray for up to 20 children each year.
In recent years the group have been delighted to host the children in their own homes, with local businesses helping out by arranging day-trips and gifts for the youngsters.
A spokeswoman for FOCC Moray said: “We are back in action raising the much needed funds to bring a group of 19 children back from Belarus of what will be their third respite visit to Moray.
“It provides them with a month long break of clean fresh air and nourishing food as they are hosted by local families in and around Moray.
“Our fundraising effort this year will include our taking over the charity shop in Lossiemouth from February 27 until March 3, and then again from August 21 to August 25. There will be bargains galore available thanks to the many items donated to the cause, many new and nearly new treasures that provides something for every taste.
“We also have a luxury hamper up for grabs in our prize draw – so it could be your lucky day!”
