REGULAR COMMUTERS USING ScotRail services between Moray and Inverness or Aberdeen are being urged to check their journey times before travel.
The advice comes as work is about to begin on new stations and track layout through Elgin and continues at Forres Station.
As a result of the replacement and improvement works, buses will be used to replace trains on four weekends from this month until April – while late evening services will be revised.
Customers are being warned that they mind find that part or all of their rail journey could be replaced by a bus for part of the journey or possibly the entire route.
Passengers are being asked to plan ahead and check if their journey plans will be affected on scotrail.co.uk.
A ScotRail Alliance spokesman said: “These are vital works and we are doing everything we can to keep our customers moving during them. We appreciate their patience as we work to deliver a better railway for Scotland.”
The announcement comes in the week that dozens of local residents discussed the rail plans in Moray at an open event in Elgin.
