POLICE HAVE APPEALED for witnesses to a fatal road accident on the A96 near Keith on Friday afternoon.
Angela Spalding, 44 and from Keith, lost her life in the accident when a black Vauxhall Astra collided with her red Audi near North Bogbain in Keith.
From nearby Newmill, Mrs Spalding worked in Moray schools as a life coach for the charity Quarriers, encouraging pupils to reach their full potential through setting objectives designed to boost their confidence.
A teenage girl passenger in the Audi escaped uninjured, but the 35-year-old female driver of the Astra was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin police reported “as a precaution”.
Road Policing Unit sergeant David Pirie said: “Our thoughts at this difficult time are with the family and friends of those who have lost their loved one in yesterday’s collision.
“The road was closed to allow for an investigation to take place and I would like to thank the public for their patience while we conducted the necessary enquiries.
“Our investigation is ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who saw the collision or saw either vehicle prior to the collision to contact us.”
The A96 was closed between Fochabers and the B9016 to Buckie for over 18 hours as police investigators examined the scene to find the cause of the accident.
